RentCompass iPad application delivers a customized experience built specifically for the Apple iPad.  It makes it possible to search for rental apartments and houses in Canada on the go without the need for a computer. Utilizing iPad’s larger screen with its magnificent colours, the user can view photo albums of rental properties at higher resolution and use the iPad multi-touch experience to navigate through rental properties with as little clicks as possible.

rent compass iphone appSearching for rental homes using the application is quite simple, the application uses the iPad’s GPS location service to find houses or apartments for rent near the user’s current position or by selecting a specific city to perform the search. The search results are shown on a Google map; simply panning and zooming through map to see more rentals in a given area. Tilting the iPad to landscape mode shows the rentals in a list view as well as on the map.  The search results can be refined by filtering the properties by price, bedroom and bathroom count.

The user can tap on an apartment or house to see more details; description of that property, the landlord’s contact information and features of the property like having a balcony, gym or whether pets are allowed or not. Tapping the address in the details view shows a map of the surrounding area of that property, and allows viewing satellite imagery of the area in addition to getting turn by turn directions to that property. The user can Email the landlord with a single touch right from within the application.

Rental property photos are also shown in a photo slideshow on the iPad’s vibrant screen, swiping the screen shows more photos, and tilting the iPad to landscape mode shows the photos in full screen.

If a user likes a rental property, she/he can add it to a list of favourites, which can later be review even when there is no network connection.

The iPad App complements the existing RentCompass iPhone App. Both applications are available for download free of charge on Apple App Store. More details and demo videos of the application can be found on www.rentcompass.com/mobile.

RentCompass is the first Canadian rental search service provider on mobile devices using native applications. Landlords, real estate agents and property management companies across Canada can visit www.RentCompass.com/AddRental to list their rental properties for free.
